e-Ballot duplication module allows a locality to replicate a countable ballot on card stock if required. e-Ballot produces countable ballots based on your tabulation system.

Verified Identity Access

e-Ballot provides a complete verification and authentication module for all voters wanting to access the site. Token authorization, password, and authentication methods linked to the voters’ details as described above provide a means by which no invalid voter will be able to access a ballot.

Track and Log sessions

e-Ballot provides an extensive dashboard of forensic information based on every ADA, Absentee, and UOCAVA voter. All sessions accessed by a voter have a complete audit of every access component, with dates and times. No information on how a voter voted is recorded for auditing.

Absentee Management

e-Ballot is a complete self-administration system provided to every locality. All administration is conducted by the locality and State. All absentee ballots and return packages are returned to the locality absentee election manager, not to Calvacere.

Ensuring Ballot Secrecy

e-Ballot provides a complete cycle of security and secrecy from the voters' browser to the absentee election manager. Decrypting the return package will allow the absentee election manager to complete the next stage of the absentee process and copy the ballot to a countable ballot.

e-Ballot ensures that the secrecy of the ballot is maintained using encryption of the return package which is hashed both at the browser and in the e-Ballot Box receiving server.

Validation of a Voters email address

e-Ballot can send confirmation emails to all ADA, Absentee, and UOCAVA voters before any election to ensure the communication email is live and monitored by the voter. Those that do not respond can be contacted again as a reminder before an election.

Email delivery failure notices

e-Ballot provides a complete email success/fail dashboard to identify issues and rectify communication issues before and during an election period. All failures are shown on the dashboard including hard and soft fails.

-Ballot uses the same mapping data from a voter to the ballot style used in the EMS and Voter Registration system to ensure the right ballot gets to the right voter.

All ballot styles are mapped using the same data used in the voter registration system to ensure that a voter receives the correct ballot for their address.

Replacement Ballot Options

e-Ballot provides for an absentee election manager to be able to provide a blank absentee ballot with the correct ballot style for the voter.

Returned Ballot with Hash Confirmation

e-Ballot provides a series of public and private key pairs along with hashing technologies to ensure that the ballot marked is the ballot received and the ballot received is confirmed by the voter directly.

Protective Electronic Envelope

e-Ballot provides an encrypted envelope around the return ballot and other required documentation when sent back through the electronic returns process.

Calvacere uses AWS infrastructure to deliver security, deployment, scaling and operational management of all our online systems. 

All materials uploaded or returned after marking are returned to separate file servers without any public-facing IPs or access. All files stored are virus checked and malware checked before the upload is allowed.

Publication of voter information on the risk of phishing attacks.

e-Ballot public portal can have any messages built into the page including a warning on phishing, direct emails containing the website URL placements and digital certificate checking advice, and a check button to display these items to the voter.

Protect against Denial of Service attacks.

All public-facing URLs are placed behind Denial of Service attack protection services.
