• does not rely on Wi-Fi for its security – Wi-Fi facilitates communication between poll book devices within a precinct and although Wi-Fi has its own security this is just a small part of the many necessary layers
• data communication layer where every device communicates with each other, each with its own encryption key (256 bit AES cipher)
• CenterPoint generates a poll book key needed to open an individual poll book on any device. This is a different key for each election.
• Use of the Merlin a small advanced relay point to secure the network at local or through the cloud.
• Each individual poll book device no matter the manufacturer also runs in its own sandbox (integral security layer)
